(Inside Left) - On 09.30.1832, Ann Jarvis (Reeves) was born. Ann made herstory by establishing the Mothers’ Day Work Clubs in her Appalachian communities to improve health & sanitary conditions. Due to diseases like measles & unsanitary living conditions, infant & childhood death were high. Ann’s clubs raised money to buy medicine, create inspection processes for milk, & provide education to families about improving health & sanitation. Ann always wanted a single day set aside to honor Mothers. In 1914, she got her wish.
