Betty Skelton inspired this painting. See below for a snippet of how she made HERstory!
On 06.28.26, Betty Skelton, aka "The First Lady of Firsts", was born. Betty made HERstory in aviation, auto racing, & astronautics. Sit tight while I try to list her MANY accomplishments. Betty made her 1st solo flight ✈️ at the age of 12 (illegally). She was the 1st woman to do an “inverted ribbon cut,” flying upside down only 10 ft off the ground, slicing a ribbon with her propeller. In 1954, Betty became the 1st woman test driver for the auto industry. She was the 1st woman boat jumper in the US. In 1956, Betty broke a transcontinental speed record. In 1957, she was the 1st woman Pace Car driver for the Daytona 500. 🏎️ There's more... but I'm out of space. Drive on, Betty. ♀️♀️♀️

Emmeline was only fourteen when she was introduced to the Women's Suffrage Movement, & in 1903, she founded the Women's Social & Political Union (WSPU). Along with many other important & notable achievements, Emmeline was a major force behind eventually securing Womens' right to vote. Check out one of Emmeline's best quotes: "Trust in God - She will provide." ♀️♀️♀️

Ever heard of Hazel Schmoll? She was a remarkable Woman ♀♀ and the inspiration for this painting. See a bit more about Hazel below. 🌱♀
On 08.23.1890, Hazel Schmoll was born. Hazel was an American botanist who made HERstory a couple of times. Hazel was the 1st woman to earn a doctorate degree in botany from the University of Chicago. The year was 1932 & it was a time when most people still thought a woman's primary focus should be finding & marrying rather than pursuing an education (sadly, 'tis true!) Hazel made HERstory a 2nd time when she became the 1st person to conduct a systematic study of plant life in southwestern Colorado. Google "astragalus schmolliae", aka "Schmoll's milkvetch." The lady was a wonder! ♀️♀️♀️
Your girl, sister, daughter, or friend will celebrate her strength every single day when she looks at this original painting hanging in her room... and she will KNOW, for sure, that she can do ANYTHING.
