1886 - Alice B. Stockham

In 1886, Dr. Alice B. Stockham was already breaking molds, long before anyone thought to put one in the oven. 😉
A physician, publisher, and outspoken advocate for women’s health and independence, Alice believed Women should have more say over their bodies, health, marriages, and futures... pretty radical stuff for her day.
Then she added a little sugar to the revolution. Alice contributed recipes for Coraline Cake and Graham Crackers to The Woman Suffrage Cook Book, a cookbook created to support the fight for Women’s right to vote.
Because apparently, Women can bake a cake 🍰, be a successful physician, challenge the status quo, AND fight for the vote all at the same time! 💪♀️⚕️
Let's just say... a few men's minds were BLOWN.
The cookbook helped raise money and awareness for the suffrage movement, turning something as ordinary as a recipe into a delicious little act of rebellion. ✊
