Inspired by: Gloria Steinem's Speech at the NPC

On January 24, 1972, Gloria Steinem strutted into the National Press Club and made HERstory, earning a standing ovation with a speech that lit the place on fire 🔥 (figuratively... but we wouldn't be mad either way).

Let’s rewind for a sec: from 1908 to 1955, Women reporters were completely banned from NPC events. That’s right, zero access, zero voice. When they were finally let in? They weren’t exactly welcomed. They were told to pack their own brown-bag lunches (seriously), sit in the balcony, and stay quiet. Meanwhile, the men? Lounging in the ballroom, feasting and firing off questions like they owned the place.

But Gloria? She wasn’t having any of that.

Her speech wasn’t just powerful, it was a massive "We’re done playing nice" moment. A mic-drop heard 'round the press world. 💥

This was a turning point. It was about demanding seats at the table, not in the balcony, not with brown bags, but in the ballroom, with voices heard loud and clear.

Because when Women speak, the world damn well better listen. 🎤
