On 08.19.1883, Coco Chanel was born. She was a French fashion designer and savvy businesswoman. Coco made HERstory in 1921 when she introduced her Chanel No. 5 perfume, making it the 1st perfume to be sold worldwide. The founder and namesake of the Chanel brand, she was credited in the post-World War I era with popularizing a sporty, casual chic as the feminine standard of style, replacing the "corseted silhouette" that was dominant beforehand.
